The Sandhills Regional Education Consortium is pleased to welcome Dr. Sharon Castelli as our new Assistant Director of Programs, a role previously held by Mrs. Stephanie Stuckey.
Dr. Castelli brings 20 years of experience in education, serving most recently as the Superintendent of Uwharrie Charter Academy. Her extensive background includes teaching at the elementary level in Cumberland and Moore Counties, as well as district administrative service in Moore and Montgomery Counties. Additionally, she has supported literacy efforts in Scotland County as the director of a Literacy Grant. Dr. Castelli is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having retired from Pope AFB, NC.
She is grateful for the opportunity to join the SREC team, sharing: "I am excited to join Dr. Hargrave and Sandhills district leadership as we work together to support staff all across the Sandhills Region who work tirelessly to ensure that students receive the best educational opportunities we can offer."
